What is EVO ICL?
The EVO Implantable Collamer™️ Lens (ICL) is a biocompatible lens implant used in the eye to correct nearsightedness and nearsightedness with astigmatism.
How does the procedure work?
EVO is placed in the eye between the iris (the colored part of the eye) and the natural lens to improve vision.
- Unlike laser-based procedures, EVO does not reshape the cornea. EVO works in harmony with your natural eye.
- EVO is a reversible lens implant and is removable by a doctor, if desired.
What is LASIK?
Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is a procedure aimed at correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
How does the procedure work?
During LASIK, a laser is used to reshape the cornea so that light is properly focused onto the retina.
- A small flap is created in the cornea.
- Laser pulses are used to reshape the cornea.
What is PRK?
Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a procedure aimed at correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
How does the procedure work?
Like LASIK, PRK reshapes the cornea to correct refractive errors. PRK is different from LASIK in the way the cornea is accessed.
- The outer surface of the cornea is gently removed.
- The cornea is reshaped to create clear vision.
